Weaves of a single paper
Works of Art Inspired by Inclusion and Human Resilience
The guiding thread of the series is the evolution of the self to gain access to a more inclusive world. For that, the first step is accepting our fragilities and flaws. The goal is to take viewers on a journey of self-discovery, and acceptance. This series was inspired by my love for Origami. When creating a figure, it is necessary to make creases in the paper by folding and unfolding it. I see this as the paper learning what is needed to later make the exact fold to achieve the specific result. To me, this is a parallel to life. We learn by living, we go in one direction and we change course when needed. As life progresses this is what helps us determine who we are, what we need, and what we want.
Then each work represents an invitation to reflect on our lives. Our inner notions of self, worth, and our understanding of the surroundings.
